In a recent trip to Peru I had the privilege of meeting many people from all walks of life, all of us with one common goal – to reach the top of Machu Picchu (The Lost City of the Inca’s) and raise as much money for Age Concern as we could.
A donation was also made to the local school, where many of the porters that helped us during the walk, lived with their families. This money will be used to create a safe play area at the school, for the local children.
Each person went with their own reasons for being there and expectations of the journey ahead. Individually, every person achieved what they set out to do and more… All came together to create a unique group of people for a unique experience that will be remembered forever. Each person contributed in making this journey the experience it was. There was blood, sweat and tears, but at the beginning and end of it all were courageous people willing to support others despite their own difficulties.
